The Essex County Department of Health and Rehabilitation is committed to protecting public health, promoting wellness, and providing high-quality rehabilitative services to residents across the county. Through a comprehensive approach to healthcare, we offer a wide range of preventative, clinical, and rehabilitative programs designed to enhance the well-being of individuals and communities. Our department works closely with healthcare providers, government agencies, and community organizations to ensure that every resident has access to the medical, mental health, and rehabilitative care they need to lead a healthy life.

 

In addition to disease prevention, health education, and emergency response initiatives, we provide specialized rehabilitation services to assist individuals recovering from illness, injury, or long-term medical conditions. Our rehabilitative programs focus on physical therapy, occupational therapy, and mental health support to help individuals regain independence and improve their quality of life. The Essex County Department of Health and Rehabilitation is dedicated to putting public health first, ensuring that all residents have the resources, support, and care necessary to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Office of Public Health Management
The Essex County Office of Public Health Management (ECOPHM) is dedicated  advancing community health and fostering health equity across the county. Its mission is to ensure that all residents, regardless of socioeconomic status, have access to essential healthcare services and resources. ECOPHM implements
community health initiatives to prevent chronic diseases, promote healthy lifestyles, and address mental health and substance use challenges.
Hospital Center
The state-of-the-art Essex County Hospital Center was completed in December 2006 and began serving patients in February 2007. With a clear mission to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care, the Hospital Center is committed to promoting recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration into community living.
Division of Community Health Services
The Essex County Division of Community Health Services is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of residents by providing health, prevention, and support programs that extend beyond traditional medical care.
