The Essex County Division of Training and Employment is dedicated to empowering individuals through education, training, and job placement services. We are committed to helping residents develop in-demand skills, secure meaningful employment, and access opportunities for professional growth. Whether you are entering the workforce for the first time, transitioning careers, or looking to enhance your skills, we are here to support you.

The Division provides workforce development opportunities to TANF and GA/ABAWD clients in addition to case management services. We also administer a wide range of Work First New Jersey (WFNJ) activities targeting Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), General Assistance (GA), and Able Body Adult without Dependent (ABAWD) clients. Our One-Stop System provides essential services and opportunities to clients with support from the Division of Family Assistance and Benefits (formerly Welfare) and the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
