Cedar Grove, NJ – Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. (third from left) dedicated a photograph of the late Henry T. Lyon, who served as the first director of the Essex County Police Academy in Cedar Grove, at the Police Academy on Monday, December 9th. With the County Executive are (from left) Lyon’s family friend Ro Peach, current Essex County Police Academy Director Anthony Perillo, Lyon’s grandson John Lyon, Rex and Barbara Jablonski (Lyon’s daughter and her husband), family friend Barry Wallace, Lyon’s grandson Kevin Lyons and family friend Mary Wallace. Lyon served as Director of the Essex County Police Academy from 1971 to 1982 and was instrumental in having the current facility on Grove Street in Cedar Grove opened in 1975.
