
22 May ESSEX COUNTY EXECUTIVE DIVINCENZO HOSTS MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY IN ESSEX COUNTY VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK

Newark, NJ – On Monday, May 20th, Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. (seventh from right) hosted a Memorial Day Ceremony at the Armed Forces Memorial in Essex County Veterans Memorial Park in Newark to commemorate Memorial Day. Laying a ceremonial wreath with the County Executive are (from left) Deputy Chief of Staff William Payne, Essex County College President Dr. Augustine Boakye, Air Force veteran Angela Garner, Essex County Veterans Advisory Board member Angel Vargas, Caldwell Councilman Ken Jurgensen, West Orange Councilwoman Asmeret Ghebremicael, Commissioner President Carlos Pomares, Sheriff and Army veteran Armando Fontoura, Deputy Chief of Staff Jackie Jones, Register and Marine veteran Juan Rivera, Navy veteran Bill Squires from West Orange, Assemblywoman Carmen Morales, Prosecutor Ted Stephens, Assemblywoman Eliana Pintor Marin and Air Force Veteran and Essex County Veterans Advisory Board President Clarence Jackson. Opened in September 2009, the 2.7-acre park and the Essex County Armed Forces Memorial are dedicated to the men and women who served as members in the U.S. military.
