Mosquito Spraying

Published on June 30, 2023

On Wednesday, July 12th, Essex County will partner with the NJ Department of Environmental Protection to conduct an aerial larval control operation. Areas along the Passaic River in Fairfield, West Caldwell, Roseland, Millburn and Livingston will be treated with a granular BTI. Residents will see a low flying helicopter from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The spraying may continue to Thursday, July 12th depending on the weather. In addition, truck mounted and manual spraying operations will take place during the next several days during the early morning and in the evening. We are using natural substances that are harmless to humans and animals. If you have any questions, call our mosquito control hotline at 973-239-3366 ext. 2480 or our Public Works Department at 973-226-8500 ext. 0.
