The Essex County Office of LGBTQ Affairs is dedicated to advocating for, supporting, and empowering the LGBTQ+ community by promoting equity, inclusion, and access to essential services. Our mission is to create a safe, affirming, and welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ individuals and families throughout Essex County by fostering partnerships, developing policies, and providing critical resources that address the needs of the community.

We work closely with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, and community leaders to ensure that LGBTQ+ residents have access to healthcare, legal protections, employment opportunities, and social support systems. Through education, policy development, and community engagement, we strive to make Essex County a place where all individuals—regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation—can thrive.
