The Essex County Youth Detention Facility is a secure, rehabilitative environment dedicated to providing structured care and guidance for justice-involved youth. We are committed to ensuring the safety, well-being, and rehabilitation of youth in our care. Our facility focuses on safety, personal growth, and preparing young individuals for a positive reintegration into society through education, counseling, and support services. 

Education and Academic Support
On-site school programs to help youth continue their education and work toward a diploma or GED.
Behavioral and Mental Health Counseling
Individual and group therapy sessions to address emotional well-being, trauma, and personal growth.
Life Skills and Vocational Training
Programs that teach decision-making, conflict resolution, career readiness, and independent living skills.
Substance Abuse Treatment and Prevention
Support and counseling services for youth struggling with addition and substance-related issues.
Reentry and Transition Planning
Case management and reintegration services to help youth successfully return to their families and communities. 
Family Engagement and Support
Programs that encourage family participation, counseling, and relationship-building efforts. 
Recreational and Personal Development Activities
Structured activities including arts, sports, and mentorship programs to foster self-expression and teamwork.
